Covid-19 Updates

December 5, 2021

Hello Reidsville citizens, this is Mayor Jay Donecker calling you with our bi-weekly COVID-19 update.  In Rockingham County infection numbers have held steady with a 7.3% positive test rate for COVID-19. This past week, there have been 218 new cases which is higher than the previous week and 2 more deaths reported. In Rockingham County, 46 % of us have received two doses of vaccine.  This means that for every two people you meet in public one is not fully vaccinated.  Because of this, when in public indoor spaces please wear a mask. 

 

For those 5 years of age or older needing to be vaccinated, you or your caregiver can go to the Rockingham County Health Department website www.co.rockingham.nc.us, to find a vaccine provider near you. Vaccines are available at our local pharmacies, satellite clinics and through Cone Health.

 

For those fully vaccinated, thank you for doing your part to keep our community safe and please ask a loved one who isn’t vaccinated to get vaccinated.   

 

If you have “flu-like” symptoms and are unvaccinated, please self-quarantine at home and get tested. For COVID-19 testing information, please go to the Rockingham County Health Department or Cone Health websites.  

 

With my term on Council ending December 14th, this will be my last COVID-19 update with you.It has been both a pleasure and an honor serving you and whether I am your Mayor or not, always remember, we are Team Reidsville, get vaccinated and together we will get through this pandemic.

Hello Reidsville citizens, this is Mayor Jay Donecker calling you with our bi-weekly COVID-19 update.  In Rockingham County infection numbers are increasing with a 7.8% positive test rate for COVID-19. This past week, there have been 128 new cases and 8 more deaths reported. In Rockingham County, 56% of us have received at least one dose of vaccine.  This still means that for every two people you meet in public one could be unvaccinated.  Because of this, when in public indoor spaces please wear a mask. 

 

For those 5 years of age or older needing to be vaccinated, you or your caregiver can go to the Rockingham County Health Department website www.co.rockingham.nc.us, to find a vaccine provider near you. Vaccines are available at our local pharmacies, satellite clinics and through Cone Health.

 

For those fully vaccinated, thank you for doing your part to keep our community safe and please ask a loved one who isn’t vaccinated to get vaccinated.   

 

Have a safe Thanksgiving Day with your friends and relatives.  Please be aware that family gatherings can be a source of spreading COVID-19.  If you have “flu-like” symptoms afterwards and are unvaccinated, please self-quarantine at home and get tested. Hello Reidsville citizens, this is Mayor Jay Donecker calling you with our bi-weekly COVID-19 update.  In Rockingham County infection numbers are decreasing with a 6.7% positive test rate for COVID-19. This past week, there have been 125 new cases and 4 more deaths reported. In Rockingham County, 54% of us have received at least one dose of vaccine.  This means that for every two people you meet in public one could be unvaccinated.  Because of this, everyone please wear a mask when indoors in public spaces.  You don’t know who is vaccinated and who isn’t and who can infect you with COVID-19.

 

For those 12 years of age or older can go to the Rockingham County Health Department website www.co.rockingham.nc.us, or call 336-394-0064 for a vaccination appointment. Vaccinations are also available at our local pharmacies and satellite clinics some of which have vaccine available for children 5 to 11 years of age. Cone Health has moved its community vaccination clinic and test site to Reidsville Christian Church at 2020 South Park Drive on Thursdays from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., but you must make an appointment by calling 336-890-1188.

 

For those fully vaccinated, thank you for doing your part to keep our community safe and please stop by City Hall and pick up a “COVID-19 Vaccinated” lapel pin.  Also, please ask a loved one who isn’t vaccinated to get vaccinated.

Hello Reidsville citizens, this is Mayor Jay Donecker calling you with our bi-weekly COVID-19 update.  In Rockingham County infection numbers are still high but decreasing with a continuing 9% positive test rate for COVID-19. Just this week, there have been 213 new cases.  But thankfully no deaths have been reported due to COVID-19 during the last five weeks.  In Rockingham County, 51% of us have received at least one dose of vaccine.  This means that for every two people you meet in public one could be unvaccinated.  Because of this, everyone please wear a mask when indoors in public spaces.  You don’t know who is vaccinated and who isn’t and who can infect you with COVID-19.

 

Those 12 years of age or older can go to the Rockingham County Health Department website www.co.rockingham.nc.us, or call 336-394-0064 for a vaccination appointment. Vaccinations are also available at our local pharmacies and satellite clinics. Hello Reidsville citizens, this is Mayor Jay Donecker calling you with our now bi-weekly COVID-19 update. In Rockingham County infection numbers have risen dramatically with a 10% positive test rate for COVID-19. Since 2 weeks ago, there have been 310 new cases and 11 more deaths reported due to COVID-19. In Rockingham County, only 37% of us are fully vaccinated. This means that approximately 2 of every 3 people in Rockingham County are susceptible to COVID-19 and can spread the infection easily to others.


Those 12 years of age or older can go to the Rockingham County Health Department website co.rockingham.nc.us, or call 336.394.0064 for a vaccination appointment. Vaccinations are also available at our local pharmacies and satellite clinics. Cone Health is providing mobile vaccination sites across the City and County. You can go to their website, www.conehealth.com, to make an appointment.

Since my last call, in Rockingham County and across the State, infection numbers have risen dramatically. While an increase was expected in the fall, this summer trend is concerning. In Rockingham County, only 39% of us are fully vaccinated. This means that approximately 2 of every 3 people in Rockingham County are susceptible to COVID-19 and can spread the infection easily to others. Those 12 years of age or older can go to the Rockingham County Health Department website co.rockingham.nc.us, or call 336.394.0064 for a vaccination appointment. Vaccinations are also available at several local pharmacies and satellite clinics. Cone Health is providing mobile vaccination sites across the City and County.
