CodeRED Message from Mayor Jay Donecker Regarding COVID-19 – Sunday, October 10, 2021

Hello Reidsville citizens, this is Mayor Jay Donecker calling you with our bi-weekly COVID-19 update.  In Rockingham County infection numbers are still high with a continuing 9% positive test rate for COVID-19. Just this week, there have been 250 new cases.  But thankfully no deaths have been reported due to COVID-19 during the last three weeks.  In Rockingham County, 50% of us have received at least one dose of vaccine.  This means that for every two people you meet in public one could be unvaccinated.  Because of this, everyone please wear a mask when indoors in public spaces.  You don’t know who is vaccinated and who isn’t and who can infect you with COVID-19.

Those 12 years of age or older can go to the Rockingham County Health Department website www.co.rockingham.nc.us, or call 336-394-0064 for a vaccination appointment. Vaccinations are also available at our local pharmacies and satellite clinics. Cone Health has moved its community vaccination clinic and test site to Reidsville Christian Church at 2020 South Park Drive on Thursdays from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., but you must make an appointment by calling 336-890-1188.

For those fully vaccinated, thank you for doing your part to keep our community safe and please stop by City Hall and pick up a “COVID-19 Vaccinated” lapel pin.  Also, please ask a loved one who isn’t vaccinated to get vaccinated.

For COVID-19 testing information please go to the Rockingham County Health Department website, www.co.rockingham.nc.us. Remember if you have “flu-like” symptoms and are unvaccinated, please self-quarantine at home and get tested.

Our next call will be on Sunday, October 24th, and always remember, we are Team Reidsville, get vaccinated and together we will get through this pandemic.

Due to the transition to the new website, the August 29th, September 12th & 26th CodeRED messages are not available.
