In a cooperative agreement, the City of Reidsville and the City of Greensboro will be testing the water line between the two municipalities on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 to ensure that Greensboro could provide an emergency supply of water to Reidsville if needed.
The testing will take place between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on July 18. Residents may notice discolored water and reduced water pressure during this time. If you experience discolored water, please allow the cold water tap to run for 5-10 minutes until the water clears. Residents are cautioned to check for discoloration particularly prior to doing any laundry.
If you see continued discoloration of water after the testing is completed, please call 336-349-1070. If it is after 3:30 p.m., please call 336-634-3300.
The two cities entered into an agreement 24 years ago in which Reidsville sells treated water to Greensboro. That agreement helped establish a water line between the two cities and helped upgrade Reidsville’s Water Treatment Plant. The process being done July 18th is essential in ensuring there is a backup water supply in case of emergencies.
