Monday spill releases small amount of sewer into creek

On Monday, September 29, 2025, the City of Reidsville Public Works Department responded to a sewer spill off of Freeway Drive at approximately 3:30 p.m.

Public Works crews responded to the spill within five minutes. The spill was mitigated within an hour.

The spill was caused by a grease blockage in the collection line. The resulting sewer spill released an estimated 350 gallons of untreated sewer but only about 25 gallons made it into Wolf Island Creek, according to Public Works officials.
