June 25th Update: The Boil Water Advisory for the City of Reidsville water system has been lifted as of Thursday, June 25. The water samples collected on Wednesday and incubated for 24 hours show no signs of contamination. We appreciate your patience over the past few days while repairs were made to the City's 12-inch main water line and during the Boil Water Advisory. Again, the Boil Water Advisory for the City of Reidsville has been lifted. Thank you.
Update: Yesterday’s water main breaks had nothing to do with the boil water advisory. The water was safe to drink and use until around 7 pm today, June 23, when the advisory went out. At that time, the Holiday Loop water tank was at a low level and, at that time, we weren't certain the system would maintain proper pressure in every part of the city. We issued the advisory as a precaution to make sure everyone is safe. We have learned the line has been repaired by Public Works crews. Citizens should regain water pressure soon. Once the tank fills up, water samples will be taken Wednesday morning, but it will take 24 hours to get the results. Once the samples are satisfactory, the boil water advisory will be lifted.
