The Code Enforcement Division of the City of Reidsville is dedicated to maintaining a safe, clean, and vibrant community for all residents and businesses. Code Enforcement staff enforce the locally adopted ordinances related to property maintenance, zoning compliance, abandoned and nuisance properties, signage, minimum housing standards, and other quality-of-life concerns.
The goal of the Code Enforcement Division is voluntary compliance through education and cooperation, while ensuring that city codes are applied fairly and consistently. Common Nuisance Violations:

Any condition which constitutes a breeding ground or harbor for rats, mosquitos, harmful insects, or other pests.

A place of dense growth of weeds over twelve (12) inches in height, not including ornamental grasses or shrubs that are well maintained and chosen for features like color and form, including, but not limited to: switch grass, pampas grass, fountain grass, and bamboo, or natural areas and wooded lots shall be allowed under the following conditions.

An open concentration of combustible items such as mattresses, boxes, paper, automobile tires and tubes, garbage, trash, refuse, brush, old clothes, rags, or any other combustible materials or objects of a like nature.

An open collection of garbage, food waste, animal waste, or any other rotten or putrescible matter of any kind in view of the public including, but not limited to, underneath open porches and carports.

Any furniture, appliances, or metal products of any kind or nature openly kept which have jagged edges of metal or glass, or areas of confinement.

Any condition which blocks, hinders, or obstructs in any way the natural flow of branches, streams, creeks, surface waters, ditches, or drains, to the extent that the premises are not free from standing water.

Abandoned or junk vehicles on private property.
